Meininger’s International Craft Beer Award (#MICBA) is a unique competition for beer and BESTMALZ is one of its main sponsors. MICBA is thus far more than just one competition among many in which beers are awarded prizes; it has become an industry meeting, a communication platform, an institution for comparison with other beers, a kind of benchmarking. The organizers have developed a system that not only results in medal awards, but also evaluates and describes the beers individually, thus enabling direct comparison with other beers and providing detailed feedback to all brewers.
Awards will be given to the best beers in different categories: Non-alcoholic beer, beer with alternative cereals, smoked beer, wood barrel-aged/wood-aged beer, freestyle/experimental style as well as no special category. Within these categories nearly hundred beer styles may be chosen. In each category the best beers will be awarded with sales-boosting Craft Beer Award medals in Silver, Gold and Platinum. You may use them for your marketing and place them directly on the label of your beer. Additional awards will be given to international craft beer of the year, best beer in its category, international craft brewer of the year.
The registration for MICBA 2022 is open until March 11. Beer samples have to be submitted until March 23 (arrival in Neustadt/Germany). The tasting will take part at April 12 & 13. The winners will be announced in a ceremony taking place by end of April 2022.
