The world’s largest trade fair for the beverage and liquid food industry will be held in Munich from September 12 to 16, 2022. Palatia Malz GmbH will also be present with a booth at drinktec to showcase its BESTMALZ brand products made from the best raw materials and transformed into high-quality malts. You will find us in hall A5 (booth 460).

What’s new at BESTMALZ?

“We will be presenting some brand new products and are curious to see what customers and visitors will have to say about them. So we are very much looking forward to our guests,” explains Dr. Axel Göhler, who as managing partner will be on site for the entire week of the trade show.

The novelties include:

  • BEST AX-L malt – made from the historic summer brewing barley variety Alexis, a predecessor of Barke, which brings distinctive flavor components to the beer and provides excellent foam stability.
  • BEST Caramel® Rye Malt and BEST Caramel® Wheat Malt – both rare specialties complementing the caramel malt lineup.
  • BEST Roasted Wheat Light / Medium / Dark – a functional grain for roasted notes in beer as well as for improving foam stability.
  • BEST Black Malt / BEST Black Malt eXtra / BEST Chocolate – have all been improved technologically

In addition, interested distillers can be offered malt made out of the NON-GN spring barley variety Prospect in limited quantities.

Who will be the winner of the BestBrewChallenge 2022?

On Tuesday, September 13, the award ceremony for the BestBrewChallenge 2022 will take place at 11 a.m. at the BESTMALZ booth (A5/460). Presenter Mareike Hasenbeck will have the opportunity to welcome almost all the winners in person. The award ceremony will be broadcast live via the BESTMALZ YouTube channel. Afterwards, the winning beer 2022, which was created by two hobby brewers and brewed in the Neckarsulm brewery, will be served on tap until the end of the trade show on Friday.

And what else?

Twice a day BESTMALZ will go live via its Youtube channel – for all those who cannot be at drinktec this year. In the morning at around nine o’clock, Managing Director Dr. Axel Göhler will deliver a short, personal “Morning Briefing”, in English. In the afternoon at around 4 p.m., the German-language format “Auf ein Bier nach vier” (“For a beer after four”) is planned, with alternating discussion partners.
